MAAR is a manufacturer specializing in the production of produces a diverse range of high‑quality packaging materials for various purposes and areas of application. With more than 35 years of expertise MAAR has become one of leaders of innovative packaging solutions globally.
The company was founded in 1988 in Slovenia, Europe with a clear vision: to develop high‑quality, technologically advanced products for both domestic and international markets. From the late 1990s onward, the company expanded its product range and invested in new machinery, automation and the professional development of its workforce. During this period, it began producing PE and PP nets and soon became one of the few manufacturers capable of mastering both extruded and knitted net‑production technologies.
As a result of continuous in‑house technological development and know-how is a custom-made range of high‑quality PE/PP plastic nets. The range includes retail packaging nets for fresh fruit and vegetables, protective nets for metal and other delicate parts, garden‑programme nets, meat‑industry nets and more.
Today, the MAAR operates globally, delivering highly customizable products and remaining committed to the values that have defined it since its foundation: quality, progress, environmental responsibility and long‑term partnerships with customers.

The establishment of the company
In the late 1980s, we began gaining experience in producing plastic nets, which at that time were still in the early stages of development in Europe. We learned the first extrusion techniques, tested materials, and developed first products for various applications — from agriculture to industry. This formative period laid the foundation for our later technological advancement.

The setup of advanced production facilities
In 1991 we invested in new machinery, restructured our production processes, and introduced clear standards for quality and control. This was the year in which the company transformed from a local business into a manufacturer with customers internationally.

With constant investment in machinery, technological infrastructure, digital tools and knowledge we ensure our operations remain efficient and innovative. Sustainable solutions and practices
We recognize the importance of environmental responsibility in both development of sustainable solutions and production process. We began developing bio‑basedmaterials, home and industrial compostable nets, and monomaterial products that enable full recyclability. We were among the first manufacturers in the region to offer solutions that meet the environmentally focused requirements. We have implemented an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
