Nets for Packaging Meat Products

Nets for packaging meat products are elastic tubular nets used to hold, shape and protect meat during processing, cooking, curing and sale. They stay with the product through every stage, from the moment it is prepared until it reaches the customer.

The nets are applied over the product by hand or with a filling or netting machine. They keep hams, roasts and other joints in a uniform, compact form, and they leave a neat, traditional net pattern on the surface of the meat.

They encase meat products such as prosciutto and mortadella, and they are suitable for other products as well, including ham and bacon. Products packed in nets showcase their appeal while remaining safely protected.

The nets are available in different sizes, mesh structures and colours to suit the product, the process and the brand. You can choose the net that fits your product, the way it is made and the look you want it to have.

Nets for packaging meat products give shape and stability. They keep the meat compact and evenly shaped during cooking, smoking and maturing, so the product comes out of each stage in the form it is meant to have.

Because the nets are already used during production, they have to cope with the conditions of the process. Nets used in the production of mortadella, for example, are resistant to temperatures of up to 90°C.

The nets are elastic and adaptable. They stretch to fit different product sizes and then recover to hold them firmly, so the same net works for a range of products and still keeps each one tight and secure.

They are strong and durable, and they withstand tension, handling and processing without tearing. The net stays intact from the moment it is applied until the product is ready for sale.

The nets are hygienic and suitable for food production and food contact. All materials used in the manufacturing of food nets for foods of animal origin conform to international regulations for food contact materials.

They also offer flexible use. The nets are suitable for manual application and for use on automated packaging lines, so they fit smaller producers as well as larger, automated operations.
